Winner of The Mary Batchelor Award 2024 for best seascape.
I have always been creative and enjoy working with my hands..from sewing..crafts..diy..design and now painting. I enjoyed art at school and it was easily my favourite subject. I love the whole process from planning and anticipating new work, seeing it develop and finally trying to decide when its finished! I find it is now my passion and the whole process to be very relaxing and therapeutic.
My work is predominately in oil paint. My tool of choice is the pallette knife as I love the texture freedom and effect it gives.
Living at the gateway to Loch Lomond and the National Park provides lots of inspiration from the fabulous scenery on my doorstep. The lochs and mountains provide an ever changing tapestry of colours and light which I try to capture in my landscapes. Portraiture presents different challenges in discipline whilst abstract can give more freedom to be creative.
If you would like me to capture a favourite view or to commission a painting of a loved one or pet please get in touch and I would be more than happy to consider all requests
I hope you enjoy viewing my paintings as much as I enjoy painting them.
